Coaches can be TERRIBLE at taking their own advice.

I pointed this out to a coach this week, who wasn’t taking her own.

And I was talking to a friend, who is experiencing burnout. She needed time off.

✔️ Time to decompress.
✔️ Take stock.
✔️ Reflect.

We all know the power of that, don’t we (I’ve lost count of the times, I’ve posted about it).

Plus the health benefits, actually the essential need, to take time off.

To power down.

Your brain needs to recharge.

I had a coaching session on Wednesday, and guess what…
My coach held up a mirror to my behaviour:

I wasn’t taking my own advice. 😬

Worrying, that because I’d just had a week off, I ‘shouldn’t take more time’.
And that’s entirely the wrong way to look at it.

When more time is exactly what I need.

Regardless of your job, or what you do.
Whether you’re employed, or have your own business.

You can’t control when your emotions emerge.
And I’ve been dealing with a lot.

Our bodies tend to tell us what we need. Ignore the signs at your peril.

So, I’m taking a week off.

This isn’t my normal weekly email.

But I hope it prompts you to reflect on how you recharge.

Properly recharge.

And who calls you out when you ignore it.

See you in two weeks time.
Fully refreshed, and RARING to go.
If there’s any topic you’d like me to do a deep dive on, I’ll be up for it.
Simply reply to this email.

Have a great weekend, Lesley
